IDOC normally knows as Intermediate Documents, This is SAP standard data structure used in SAP system to exchange information between SAP and Non-SAP systems or it may be between different SAP system. Ex- Production to Quality or Quality to Development or vise versa.
There are two type of Idocs:
- Inbound
- Outbound
Inbound
- SAP Received Idoc
- Idoc Processed and updates SAP database
- Status is looged
Outbound
- Data is collected in SAP
- IDOC generated
- sent to the partner system Via port. Example- RFC, File, or EDI
